C&M has recently purchased a new Tektronix signal analyzer / oscilloscope with four sampling heads and new software for testing high-speed serial data assemblies. Once the new software is implemented, testing will become easier, results more accurate and test results available in a wide variety of report formats. The four testing heads will cut operating time significantly. Testing that once took ten hours per cable assembly may now be accomplished in ten to twenty minutes! The oscilloscope can perform three different test measurements on one assembly simultaneously.
C&M purchased this equipment to be compliant with the test protocols of the Infiniband Trade Association’s ‘Plug Fest’, a test process where the best in the industry gather to discuss the test methodology of high-speed cables. Our InfiniBand 4X DDR cables passed the “Plug Fest” requirements for cable lengths from 1 meter to 10 meters and we are able to offer our customers small – medium quantities of the Double Data Rate 4X Infiniband cable assembly.
C&M has also purchased a new Fluke tester for our lab. The unit is the latest Category Cable (Cat 5, 5e, 6, 7) tester on the market, offering significant savings on testing costs for C&M’s new Industrial Ethernet cable solutions. This tester performs in ten seconds what would normally take three days to test by hand. This tester has different modules that snap into the device for testing various Category cables and provides spectacular verification reports. The Fluke unit can also be used to evaluate fiber optic solutions, USB interfaces, and high-speed coaxial cables.
