GENTEX® Light Vehicle Intercom System (LVIS)
Push-to-talk Personnel Device
WAUREGAN, Conn. April 12, 2007 – C&M Corporation, a manufacturer of high-performance cables and assemblies for worldwide markets, has been selected by GENTEX® to provide an ambidextrous, push-to-talk (PTT) controller for use in the Light Vehicle Intercom System (LVIS). C&M understands that any equipment in defense and public safety applications simply cannot fail. This reliability standard was maintained throughout the development process. The design of the PTT controller factors in the demands of modern military situations.
Utilizing their expertise in three different injection molding processes, C&M has developed a dual PTT device able to withstand the rigors encountered in combat environments. The backbone of the PTT controller is a polyamide encapsulated PC board containing four actuating devices, an amplifier, and a transformer. A Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) molded gasket and a glass-filled thermoplastic outer shell providing the necessary water proofing and combat durability.
