Extruder Operator

Responsibilities and Duties:

Be able to operate extruder at required speeds. Set up extruder and center cable to insulation within required tolerances. Make required tests on cable and perform all departmental tasks such as housekeeping, safety, etc. Employees will also be responsible to perform tasks such as fill in on other extrusion lines, work floor, and perform miscellaneous tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Mechanical ability, read micrometer, pass color test, be able to load and unload pay-off reels. Understanding of manufacturing specifications. Be able to work required overtime.

Experience

Previous primary and/or small jacket extrusion experience is required.

Application Engineer – Bulk Cable & Cable Assembly Products

Report to Application Engineering Manager

Looking for a motivated individual who is looking to expand on his/her experience in the area of manufacturing engineering. Qualified candidate must be willing to attend educational seminars and be able to communicate effectively with other engineering, sales and production personnel. CAD experience is a plus.

Scope

The Application Engineer is responsible for working with the Application Engineering Manager, Engineering, and Sales to provide cost effective bulk cable and cable assembly as well as custom interconnect design solutions based on direct customer interaction and knowledge of the application for their assigned customer base and market segment. He/She will work together with the Sales Account Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Quality, Production, and Process Engineering in support of our customer’s needs. He/She will also be tasked with developing new and innovative products based on customer input, market trends, and company strategy.

Requirement

  • Provide necessary application engineering support to meet customer’s needs for new products and changes to existing products. Obtain necessary process engineering support for product development activities
  • Act as Project Manager/Team Leader to ensure new product development efforts take a structured, cross-functional team approach
  • Provide cost effective designs maximizing margin through understanding of margin, material, labor, scrap, and tooling costs
  • Provide technical support and design assistance to assigned customers through normal communication channels as well as occasional travel to customer’s facility

Daily Activities

  • Create bulk cable and cable assembly designs at the request of sales, marketing, engineering management for assigned customer/market base
  • Lead design review and design validation activities of new products
  • Support Quality in evaluation of electrical and mechanical test requirements and results
  • Log quotes and orders in a timely fashion using C&M Quote Navigator database and maintain up to date status
  • Initiate/coordinate/complete Engineering Change Requests using the C&M ECR database and report on ECR generated from C&M SARs initiative
  • Manage and track development opportunities and internal projects using C&M Opportunities database
  • Support manufacturing on new product processes
  • Process corrective actions using C&M Corrective Action database
  • Provide timesheet of project activities on weekly basis
  • Manage development programs as a project leader of a cross-functional team composed of representatives from various aspects of the organization

Ideal Candidate Preferred Requirements

  • Skills: Excellent knowledge of bulk cable and cable assembly design, materials, components, processes, and electrical/mechanical testing and regulatory approvals; excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Access database navigation, Internet; excellent written/verbal communication skills

Account Manager

Regional Sales Manager

Scope

Account Managers are responsible for managing and interfacing with C&M customers, sales agents, planners, engineers, production people, and the Materials Group to ensure customer requirements are met. In addition, they need to work closely with Application Engineering, identifying sales growth with existing customers and find new qualified customers.

Requirements

2 to 4 years experience in Wire & Cable or Assembly Connectors Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Be proactive calling C&M’s target customers and qualify potential cable and/or assembly sales opportunities. Ensure all the customers are qualified and categorized (strategic, core, emerging, legacy, dead).
  • Ensure all quotes are followed-up on and comments are entered in Quote Navigator database as well as maintaining Quote Navigator status codes
  • Ensuring C&M is responding to customer’s needs (RMA’s, RFQ’s, engineering team support, etc.) within a reasonable time frame. Utilize and prepare all forms with complete and accurate information (RFQ’s, RMA’s, customer qualifications, cancellation, etc.)
  • File important documents (purchase orders, order acknowledgements, correspondence, contracts, etc.) in the central files for easy access.
  • Ensuring all purchase orders and order acknowledgements reflect C&M’s quoted terms, conditions, and price and entering orders into Axiom with the correct information.
  • Proactively tracking new catalog orders to ensure they are processed in a timely manner. Communicate to the Regional Manager/Sales Engineer and customer if delivery dates are going to be missed.
  • Generate Open Order Report on a daily basis and edit promise dates when appropriate as well as entering order comments keeping all departments advised on any special circumstances.
  • Review customer’s credit status and work with Finance on any short paid invoice or invoices that are not paid within terms.
  • Charging customers when appropriate for cancellations, re-schedules, engineering, samples, etc.
  • Review and update the Master Commission Report to ensure representatives are being paid the correct percentage.
  • Tracking and updating major opportunities utilizing C&M’s Opportunity Reporting system.
  • Following all sales procedures, policies, and systems and communicating possible process improvements.
  • Ensure product liability is clearly defined in writing, and customers are billed when appropriate.
  • Verify and set pricing on all quotes.
